My Weather Station
Slower slightly after 9/11/2001, this is still my favorite pastime.  I got the bug during the 80s and 90s,when my job took me to 6 continents and 55 countries in 4 years. Amassing over a million frequent flier miles it allowed us to take some vacations for many years after at a reduced cost.  Most of our trips have involved scuba diving, but we've combined them with sightseeing and wine touring.

Here is a map of all the places I've been.

I also developed an interest in meteorology and the ability to use IT to stay on top of the weather.  The "My Weather Station" link gives real time information from our home sent wirelessly to a Davis VantagePro console and then published using Flash technology.

Some of the trips chronicled here are:
bullet1998 Odyssey - 3+ weeks including diving and touring in Egypt, touring Switzerland and visiting friends in Basel and finishing with touring the Luberon region of Provence, following Peter Mayle's tour
bullet2000 Papua New Guinea - 2 weeks diving off of Rabaul and finishing with a trip to the Tari Valley in the Southern Highlands.
bullet2005 Tuscany - the impetus to update this website. 12 days of country touring, wine tasting and eating. Based out of Villa di Piazzano, near Cortona.  Wonderful properties can be found at the InTuscany website
